How to Recruit Recruiters
Every recruiter is bound to run into it at some point; the task of recruiting recruiters. How do you pitch a job role to someone that knows all the tricks? There are ways to have a successful conversation with another recruiter, peak their interest in a role, and fill it.
#1 Personalize your Job Pitch
You and the candidate have something in common right off the bat; you are both skilled recruiters. Take a good look at their LinkedIn profile. Maybe you have some common interests, skills, or past experience. Relate to them on a personal level, and approach them more as a colleague that you have an opportunity for versus someone you are trying to recruit.
#2 Be Transparent
These candidates know the recruitment process. It’s essential to be transparent with all aspects of the role you are recruiting, including pay rate and bill rate. When they ask questions, just be frank in your response. You are more likely to secure a talented recruiter with honesty versus the bells and whistles you may be used to pulling out for other job recs.
#3 Use Specific Buzz Words in Your Job Description
Hone in on the job description that you’re posting and really make it sparkle and shine. Words such as; learning, training, and accelerating your career are especially useful. Position the job description as a sale. What are these recruiters going to receive and benefit from by working for your specific client versus the next guy?
Recruiting another recruiter can feel like a daunting task. It is something to approach with confidence and comradery.
