What do at a Trade Show (Part 2 of 3)
You have arrived at the trade show and are weaving through the vendor booths. You are following the schedule that you pre-planned for yourself and are reaping the benefits of being proactive. Now that you are in attendance at the function, how do you make the most out of your time there?
#1 Utilize your Social Media Platforms
Document your time at the Trade Show through your firm’s social media platforms. Whether you are making a post on your main profile, jumping into a discussion on LinkedIn, or adding a video snippet to your Instagram story, your clients will be able to see your company’s presence at a function that supports their development and thus the client themself.
#2 Business Cards, Business Cards
Collect as many business cards as you can, and be sure to return the favor by handing out yours. Don’t be afraid to ask for them from vendors whose services you might not necessarily be in need of at the current moment. You never know what or who your agency will need later down the line. Make sure that you store them in a safe place to review once you get back from the function.
#3 Take Notes
Keep your pen and paper handy during the presentations and demos that you decide to attend. Take notes on what you hear and learn about. What you gather from these talks can be used for the evolution and benefit of your firm. These notes can be later passed along to your coworkers or even turned in social media content.
All in all, make sure you hang onto everything that you get at the trade show. Once you’ve checked off all of your “Must See” presentations and demos as described in the previous post, be open to having any and all conversations. Organize all of your promo materials and notes at the end of the night and prepare to file them away accordingly.
